I’m either going to get used to the way you talk or strangle you.

“I have read that strangulation until near unconsciousness enhances the sexual experience.”

I didn’t mean that way, he retorted.

Guy gave him a grin. “I know.” The smile faded. “Have you injured yourself?”

Jason tested each limb as he shoved up. One wing ached a bit more than the rest of his bruised body, but moved as it should. Nah, I’m okay.

“Dragons are extremely strong physically with regeneration powers.”

  Elvies?

“We heal quickly compared to humans, but if a limb is lost, it is lost.” His stomach rumbled as he spoke, and he pressed a hand to it.

If you want to go back, I understand.

  “Will you?”

  No.

  “Then neither will I.”

Then I’d better get the hang of this flying shit and find us some food.

His third lift off went much smoother. Not flapping so hard regulated his speed, and combining the tail for a rudder and leaning the same as he would on a motorcycle controlled direction as well as up and down. He got braver, circling out from the clearing even though he wasn’t too sure what he was looking for. Spotting a building, wall enclosed, he headed back to Guy, swooping down, landing a bit awkwardly, but didn’t end on his chin. He flared his wings out, huffed through his nose, and puffed out smoke.

How nice that you have learned your attack pose so quickly, Kirfreda commented, hovering over him. Now you must work on recognizing friend from foe.

With a snort, accompanied with a puff of smoke, he pulled his wings in. Shifting back to himself—which was always how he thought of his human form—he asked, “What are you doing here?”

Looking for you. Incotricortriney is liaison for the court, you remember. King Egill wishes to know of your progress. Imagine my surprise when I learned you were no longer with Mesocathous

  “That guy’s an ass.”

With a chuckle, she agreed, but followed with a deep sigh. Estacrewban has begun a streak of murders and must be stopped. As Incotricortriney has a finding spell on him and Estacrewban, it would seem, on both of you, it is requested that you return to draw him out for extermination.

  “On one condition.”

I do not grant conditions, only deliver messages.

“Deliver this one then, I want to stay over there as a member of WRAITH, and Guy stays with me.”

I see no reason the request would not be granted. Allow me to take you to the portal where Prince Leviathan awaits.

“Does he have the authority to be able to make that decision?”

Yes. She stretched out one wing and bowed down. I will take Incotricortriney. You will follow.

Agreeing only because he hadn’t flown yet with a passenger, Jason rolled his clothes into a bundle. He wasn’t going to have to stay butt naked when he shifted back.

  Chapter Seven

Staring in the mirror in his apartment, Jason didn’t think he looked all that different. His skin looked like he’d spend a little too much time in a tanning booth compared to how he’d looked a week ago, and his hair was lighter. People who knew him probably wouldn’t even notice. The chance of even seeing anyone he knew was slim anyway. He’d lost his job. The family he had claimed he didn’t want to leave behind, he hadn’t talked to in years, and they wouldn’t miss him - something he finally admitted to Guy. Friends were a pretty slim commodity in his life as well. He’d grown away from all those he had in school once he went into the service and hadn’t kept in touch with those he’d made in the army.

“We should not stay here long,” Guy told him. “This is not a good place for a confrontation should Estacrewban attack.”

“I know. I only wanted to make a quick stop for clothes and let the landlord know I’d be gone for a while. We’ll keep the apartment for a place to stay between assignments.”

  “WRAITH has agreed to this?”

“I don’t know. I didn’t ask them.” He glanced around the room. In a studio apartment, all he could afford, there wasn’t much to see.

“Do you regret losing your weapons?”

“Yeah, I’m comfortable with what I’m familiar with. I asked for some replacements though. Levi said he’d have something for us when we meet up with them.”

“Estacrewban will not attack if others are with us. Twice now he has failed and suffered. He will not chance assistance against him again.”

“Which is why we’re going on the run.”

“It does not distress you that they will release you are a suspect of murder?”

The whole story WRAITH had released to explain what happened in the warehouse that night seemed pretty slim to Jason. Claiming he’d slaughtered an FBI team watching him on the suspicion of selling the stores he was supposed to be guarding was all WRAITH’s idea.

“Yeah, a little, but he has to believe there really is a reason for me to run. We’ll be out of the city before they release the story.”

“We go again to the mountains and forest?”

“This time we go to the desert, mostly flat and open.”

“Will that not make him suspicious?”

“I’m not taking a chance on setting a forest on fire again. We were just lucky the last time with the rain. The desert will burn too, but it’s easier to put out a fire and contain it if we start one there. There isn’t the foliage to set up the trip wires I used last time, either, to make him feel safer. Besides, he thinks we think he’s dead and won’t expect him.”

“It seems strange to rely on human technology for them to follow us at a safe distance and know if we are attacked. I cannot but feel if they are far enough away he does not see or sense them, they will be too far away for aid. Things are so very different here.”

“You’ll get used to it.” Hearing his own words gave Jason pause. “Do you want to? Do you want to stay here?”

“I want to stay with you.”

“That’s an evasive answer, lover,” Jason told him, rubbing his shoulder.

Shrugging slightly, Guy pressed his cheek to the back of Jason’s hand. “I will miss some things, others much less. I was not happy there. What we have together makes me feel complete while always before I felt something was missing.”

  “Even with Kirfreda? Or Victor?”

“Physically they both provided for my needs. For my heart, they did not.”

Jason had to ask, “When we were with Victor, did it hurt you to see me with him?”

“It made me happy to see your pleasure that I could not give you, and I know, though he had your body, he did not have your heart.”

Remembering how he’d felt watching Victor give Guy pleasure, Jason nodded. “I love you, and if we had time now, I’d show you how much.”

Time dragged with endless driving to different locations and setting up a new camp each night. After three days of not daring to distract themselves with sex and bored out of their minds, tension was building.

“This is beginning to look like a colossal waste of time,” Jason complained. “Either the bastard really is dead and they’re wrong about who is committing the new murders, or Estacrewban’s too much of a coward to come after us.”

“It would take some time for the news of the WRAITH’s displeasure with you and of withdrawing their protection to reach him, I would think.”

“The whole thing depends too much on him hearing enough to think he’d have an advantage. For all we know, all he did hear was I turned out to be a freaking dragon. After the way he backed off from Kirfreda that’d be enough to keep him away forever. Another possibility is he believed she joined in last time because of feelings for you and would again. There are just too many maybes in this whole thing for it to work—if he’s even alive.”

Jason tossed the paper plate that had held his dinner of canned stew into the fire. He hated paper plates, but hated
washing dishes ever worse, especially in the desert where ready water was an issue. “We only packed enough to keep this up for a couple more days. If he hasn’t made a showing by then, I’m calling it quits.”

“Perhaps I can blow you and with a physical release you would be less tense,” Guy offered.

“Are you thinking you can tell me what I need after I’ve told you we shouldn’t chance the distraction?” he questioned, slipping easily into Dom mode for the distraction Guy had suggested. In everyday matters, he treated Guy as an equal. Sex, when the subject came up - no pun intended - was a different matter. Jason could refuse, following caution. Caution, however, for three boring days had gained them nothing, and he was freaking horny. “Strip and present yourself.”

While Guy stripped, Jason stripped. Guy took his place again in the folding chair, scouting his ass forward to the edge and spreading his knees. The need for Jason to exert his power and control swelled inside faster than his cock grew in anticipation. Guy kneeling in front of him without a cushion to protect his knees from rocks fed Jason’s need. Not allowing Guy to sit back on his heels for a more comfortable position fed it more.

“Do you think I should reward you for your attempt at control by allowing you what you ask for?”

  “No, Sir.”

“Nor do I.” Shifting his leg, he lifted his foot to between Guy’s legs and tapped his dangling balls. “Do you like that?”

  “Yes, Sir.”

Jason swung his foot, increasing the force of his taps. “And that?”

  “Yes, Sir.”

No longer tapping, Jason pushed the balls up into Guy’s pelvic bone, slowly increasing the pressure and watching Guy’s cock grow. Moving his foot back and forth, he massaged Guy’s sac and not lightly. The need to give his lover more of the pain he wanted, needed - just as Jason wanted, needed to give - drove him to more.

“Come here. Position yourself across my lap.”

Having never given himself completely to the BDSM lifestyle, Jason had never purchased any toys for scenes and play and wouldn’t have packed them anyway. This trip was to be one of abstention. Making do with what was available, a good old-fashioned spanking never failed to please.

Balanced on his fingertips and toes, Guy draped himself over Jason’s thighs, his cock between them. Jason deliberately spread his own knees, denying Guy any friction he’d derive from a squeezing. With a quick tuck, Guy’s balls hung down as well.

“Spread your legs,” Jason ordered with more than just a spanking in mind. Jason leaned forward, testing his reach, and found the sack and squeezed at the same time he delivered the first swat to Guy’s cheek.

Guy caught a deep breath, blew out, caught another, and his ass cheeks clenched. Jason pulled and twisted with the next swat. Ass cheeks clenched tight, Guy did the whole breathing thing again and humped his hips, his cock searching for friction and pressure. Jason relented slightly. Straightening, he closed his legs, trapping cock and balls between the thick, strong thigh muscles and squeezed, swatting twice in rapid secession - on one cheek and then the next - while his other hand found Guy’s nipple and pinched and twisted it.

A low, soft “ahhh” came from Guy, a sound of pure pleasure, followed with a sigh from the contracting and relaxing of Jason’s thigh muscles massaging his cock and balls. Jason swiped the pre-cum seeping from his own stiff cock for lube, pressed one finger into Guy’s asshole, reaching for and finding that bundle of nerves. Then two, three, four fingers went in, that fast before he withdrew far enough to form the same hand wedge Guy had used on him their first night together. For the pain, stretching, burning, pleasure he gave, Guy used his arms to push back against every plunge, taking Jason’s hand and whimpering cries of want with each evasion.

Guy sobbed when Jason jerked his hand away, but hurried to assist in getting into the new position Jason pushed him to. Facing Jason, straddling his lap, Guy rode Jason’s cock up his ass, and he rode Jason hard. Guy’s hands held tight to Jason’s wrists while both of Jason’s hands pinched and twisted Guy’s nipples. Guy’s cries filled the air, drowning out the sounds of Jason’s groans as they came together.

Camp showers definitely were designed for necessity, not pleasure. No hot water and no standing under the erratic spray even of cold water for any length of time. One released the spray just long enough to get wet, stopped it, soaped up, and then quickly rinsed. Showering together made it a little more fun. Each soaping the other up certainly was, and covered with suds was just how Estacrewban found them.

“It appears you have learned to enjoy your little fairy,” he said, smirking at the start of surprise each of them gave.

Jason recovered quickly, falling into the role of a running fugitive with no idea Estacrewban would be after them. “You’re dead!”

“Only badly burned, which you will pay for. I was surprised, though, at Kirfreda’s participation. I had not realized she had such a fondness for you, Incotricortriney, not after she threw you out.”

Pulling up straight, Guy told him, “I left of my own accord.”

“Oh, of course. It was not that a mere elf could not satisfy the needs of a dragon.”

  “I was needed at home.”

“Stop defending yourself to this asshole,” Jason ordered. He waved his hand at the darkness around them. “Don’t tell me you got brave enough to come after us alone.”

“You are most insulting. It was not because of a lack of bravery that I invited my friends. It is because I shall so enjoy watching what they will do to you. Have you ever met a ghoul?”

“You did not bring those here,” Guy said with a gasp.

“Oh, but I have. They actually prefer dead flesh, but I have their promise they will eat you slowly, keeping you alive for a very long time.”

“You might want us to wash off the soap first then,” Jason said.

“You stall?” he said with a laugh, but with a second thought, his eyebrows drew down into a V and he took a step back. “You stall. For what reason?”

  “Maybe Kirfreda is hanging around.”

“She is not. My agents assure me she has returned to Vargr and was ordered by King Egill not to return. This time Incotricortriney has been banned from court for his poor choice in mates and staying with you when you defied orders to go there and fled instead. Or do you think I believe they truly seek you for murder? WRAITH wants no humans who have seen us and certainly no elf freely roaming earth.”

“Agents?” Jason asked, surprised at how Estcrewban had interpreted the false stories. “You’ve got spies?”

“Many will forge allegiances for proper payment, but we waste time.” As before when summoning his minions, Estacrewban raised his hand and snapped his fingers. They came out of the dark into the light from the campfire, ten at least, circling the camp.

  “You ready?” Jason asked.

  “Yes,” Guy answered.

They both ran, Jason straight at Estacrewban, and Guy, behind Jason, leaped to his back, holding tight to his shoulders as Jason shifted. They’d only had a few days to practice the maneuver before Prince Leviathan brought them through the portal. Practice made perfect. Guy rode high on Jason’s back, pulling his legs up quickly to not interfere with the sprouting, growing wings. Ghouls, no different than goblins when faced with a dragon, ran like hell. Estacrewban attempted to flee before Jason caught him by the head with one front claw.

No sooner did Jason lift into the air than the area lit up. Carrying his prey, and using another dragon power he’d discovered - night vision - Jason spit fire at the morbid creatures who once thought to eat him. One by one, whipping and twisting, he chased each down. When the last lit up, the rotting flesh of its body igniting as easily as tallow, Jason circled again, using his wings to fan out the fires that threatened the desert forest.

Still holding Estacrewban by the head, Jason landed. He stretched out one wing and knelt, chuckling when Guy dismounted by shoving off
and sliding down his wing as if on a playground slide. Backing a safe distance, he shifted and joined Guy to stare down at the body.

  “You crushed his skull.”

“Looks that way. The bone fragments and brain matter pretty much gave it away. I hope you’re not going to tell me he can heal from that.”

“No, but Prince Leviathan and King Egill will not be happy. The king prefers to deliver his own punishment.”

“Just don’t know my own strength, I guess.”

After a long, deep sigh, Guy said, “They may believe that - I don’t - but they still won’t like it. Neither will the prince and the others with him be happy that we did not signal them nor wait for their assistance.”

“We didn’t exactly have the radios with us, and I think they’re smart enough to recognize those fires as a signal. There wasn’t time anyway.”

A tremendous increase in his sense of hearing was another benefit he’d discovered to being a dragon. Hearing the stealth movements of the others coming to the rescue, he leaning down and whispered, telling Guy of another sense enhancement. “I smelled his stinky friends.” Running his hands down Guy’s arms and up again, he added, “I was selfish and not very realistic when I demanded we stay here all the time. You have family over there you’ll want to visit. It’ll take me a while, but I’ll learn just as you’re learning how it is to be over here.”

“I care not where we are as long as we are together.”

He scoffed. “Hell, I’m still being selfish. Being able to shift to my dragon won’t be possible often over here. Now that I’ve experienced it, I will crave it. Do you think you can stand me, never sure if I want to sub or Dom, be human or dragon?”

“I cannot live and be happy without you in any form, for as long as you will have me. I—”

Jason jerked him in for a bear hug, cutting off his words, first with snapping his head and second with driving his tongue down his throat. As the others arrived, he promised in silence. Forever.
